Nerf Review: Cobra RC-6

The Box
So Alpha Strike line is starting to show up in stores (Found mine at Target) and at $10 it was hard to not snag it just to get an idea of what this offers.

The Blaster
So the main product, the blaster which is a six shot rotation T Pull side arm style blaster. The performance out of the box is about Elite line style and T Pull is pretty easy. The handle style though is sort of annoying, if holding it tightly feels weird and possibly hurt after awhile. Simple solution is gloves or grip tape. The blaster has no screws, it all clipped together so probably easy to take apart but from videos I seen the plunger is dropped design and doesn't really allow for spring replacement.

Look at some of the Clamps on the Blaster
Next you get 12 (yes 12) darts in the package so you get two loads of darts for the blaster which it seems will be a common thing for the Alpha Strike line which is almost unheard of in Nerf Blasters!

The 'bottles' and the darts
Targets are not the biggest thing for Nerf War but they are fun at home. The four pieces come together in sets of two that fit together but are universal fits so any pieces come together to make it. They easily fall apart which is fun and the bottles have enough bottom base to stand as single pieces without being put together.

Bottles Assembled.
So for Nerf War Hobbyist and/or Modder I don't think it the best thing for us but I think it a fun box for the hobby and a great entry level product for the hobby at large. I suspect the entire line will be that which is great.

A Tale of PF2 Bards

As of writing this blog Pathfinder 2nd Edition is out...and I am still running a PF2 Playtest campaign of the Doomsday Dawn Playtest Adventure but it will be done soon.

I also got to play in one chapter of the playtest myself as a Bard, Lady Tart my Dwarven Beard (Drag) Queen who lived in the City of Strangers for a time after leaving his Sky Citadel home. The character and the mechanics were so fun that I had to get some art made of my passionate dwarven bard which you can see below. Though admittedly looking back got a few things wrong in the rules but we live, we learn and have fun playing.
Lady Tart aka Huk Kinar
With PF2 now out and the hopes I get to bring Huk back in a game one day I decided what he look like in the final product. So below I will post Playtest Lady Tart and under that PF2 Lady Tart so we can see what has changed!

At first glance we see a massive change to HLO out print format; wait sorry. At a glance things are not too different. With the change between the different Proficiency 'levels' we see a boost to everything associated with that on PF2 Lady Tart. Spell Points are now Focus with different mechanics and with those I thought Versatile Signature was better to pick up then Triple Time despite me loving the name and what it does. Have a bit extra language now and spell selection is slightly different do to changes (Unseen Servant vs Summon Elemental for example). Slight change/tweak to Huk's heritage/ancestry and last some of the other lasting changes are to the gear. I copied the list for the most part but where it changes is in the runes/quality. I ended taking a +1 Striking Longsword instead of two +1 weapons as quality is gone (Sort of miss and messed up some of my Ebberon plans but it will be fine!) and Huk's armor isn't magical this time (I ran out of gold but I think they also bumped the armor rune up a level as well.)

That was interesting and I hope helped give some insight to things; I look forward to playing Lady Tart again in the future. Luck in your games; be it Pathfinder 2nd Edition or whatever you get play; just have fun!

LEGO Friends Friendship Flower 30404 Set Review for MF0

The Bag
Another Target Clearance Find, I really recommend you check out yours!

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I most certainly did! I got a classic squat quad walker and I tried to make a more human shaped from but was forced to make a hybrid as I couldn't figure out bipedal legs. I am really licking the arm style here. +5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the Golden Ratio?  (Ratio is $0.10 a piece)

Original Price $3.99 / 100 = $0.04 per part giving us +5 points.
Clearance Price #1.98 / = $0.02 per part gives us +5 and because it so low and the previous one was already below we will give a bonus +5 points for 10 total.

Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Big yes but more on the scrambler or quad walker styles. +5 points.

Parts 3

Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Sort of have to say use given a built two frames, no don't I? +5 points.
The Set - Pretty Flower
Total: So the Set is already A+ before going on Clearance but after Clearance it exceeds exceptions becoming S(pecial) class!

LEGO Friends Emma's Bumper Cars 30409 Review for MF0

The Bag
As you can see I got this in clearance at my local Target so might want to check yours. I love the colors and I see something in this...

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Well I built myself a bit of a dogcatfigher for Vitor's Dogfight MF0 Variant but still sort of a weak build so will go 0 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (Ratio is $0.10 per part)

Original Price $3.99 / 66 = $0.06 +5 Points
Clearance $1.98 / 66 =  $0.03 +5 with Clearance Bonus of +5 points.

Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Taking in account all the games I would say this set breaks even and will go with 0 points!

Parts 3
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

This I am going to say no to though so -5 points.

The Figures

The Set
Total: So regular Price we have a B and with my Clearance we get a B+ set. I think that fair plus the actual set I see some potential. Emma's Bumper could easily be made a starship and the cat could be the start of a tank for MF0.

Spicy Frame Zero: Aeroframe Rules

Long time and it has brought something different but still a Mobile Frame Zero Post! Despite probably being the biggest person supporting playing the game as is here is another Alt or House Rule for you to try. Once again this is brought to by a Discussion on MF0: The University; a MF0 Discord server.

The talk was about trying to add flying units into Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack without making another game. Many other table top wargames have struggled to create rules for aircraft interacting with ground units; be it official or others homebrew. A bit part tends to being some what accurate to aircraft that can usually cross the battlefield if not just over shoot it, even in scales. Below are the rules I presented to keep it simple, direct and be able to operate within the battlefield. It more about feel and balance than any kind of accuracy or such. Despite the name these should work to represent any kind of aircraft.

Sample Aerospace Frame

Aeroframe Rules

Aeroframe(plane) gets a Sprint Green Movement d8 and  1 (only 1) White d6 as base and keeps the Sprint Green Movement d8 no matter the weapon system.  The model of the aeroframe must have a clear front or a base that indicates the front. This special ‘frame’ gets one free unit of movement BUT it must be used first and is always in the direction it is facing. When it ends it move the facing must be in the direction it last traveled in.

That's it! If you like to discuss these rules than head over to the thread I started here: The Hangar

If you like to explore some others rules on flight that are a bit more robust check out these:

MF0 Expanded: The Evolution of a Rhino

Generation 1
The Rhino, one of my most favorite frame builds that have taken a bit of a life of its own to the point that it might be my most iconic but not really used by the community build. It a more unusual design of frame with layers and layers of plates.

The Original Concept Rawing

To be frank it a box with legs but it a box with legs that had style that looked menacing. It all started with a drawing with future plans that never happened until this: a contest; Atavism's Non-Combat Frame Contest. The Rhino was one of many of my submissions. I found the contest rather inspiring.

I was runner up three in the contest which got me Starflower's Special Achievement. He had to build a non-combat from of my choice. I picked Journalism. You can see all that on the Announcement Thread.

Of course next Atavism had to take it a step further and made his own combat versions of the frames on his Total War Appreciation Tour.

I liked his version a lot and thought I could improve the Rhino.

Seems I never posted the improved version to The Hangar but I am sure I did to The University (Discord) but you get to see it here.

Generation 2
Much better looking frame and sadly I have never physically bricked it up...yet. I really should make a squad of these though my love for this frame has lead to some other outputs such as a short story type thing.

Rhino Charge

If you like a closer look at the Rhino, how it built and maybe some combat varients I have come up with than check out my Sketchfab.

Lastly, I commission art of the Rhino. I wanted to see it outside of the Brick into something you might see in an anime or the pages of a manga. We know what our beloved Chub looks like 'in the flesh', why not my Rhino? So the following is all made by the Awesome and Talented Alan B and you should check out his deviantart after looking at this section of his work: shinypants.

Combat Retro Fit

Well thank you for coming along this journey with me; I hope it was fun, you enjoyed what you saw and please feel free to bring the Rhino into your own squads. I love to see pictures of them posted in any of our MF0 groups or just #MF0 on Twitter, Instagram and other places!

Mobile Alternative Zero: Super Deformed Mobile Suit Series

A Box
So I picked these up while visiting the Japan Pavilion at Disney World's Epcot Center. I could tell they were similar to the Converge Series that Mantis King Reviewed but clearly were a different line as Converge was there as well so I figured I check them out for MF0: RA.

These are the Ones I picked up
See I will start with the Unicorn Gundam as our primary example than share photos of the other 3 with comments. Will save the final review for the bottom using sort of an average of all four sets for the review.
Unicorn Assembled

All the model's heads and arms come off easily along with the accessories but are secure enough to still use in games without falling apart when they move. Also with the way it design I don't expect much wear and tear to happen on these models.

Review Questions

Is it below, at, or above $10 per Frame?

I believe I got these for $8.99, I have seem to have thrown away box/receipt with out writing down the amount. +5 points.

Is it a good size to use in game?

They are all smaller than a chub but still about the same height as a Classic and foot print still Chubish so I will say yes. +5 Points

How many removable parts does it have to represent systems?

Well it averages to about 3 systems each for 0 points.

Does it have enough parts you can remove to represent White Dice damage?

Between the ability to remove arms and the head, along with my believe with minimum wear and tear I will say Yes for +5 points.

Total: We have a A level series of sets for MF0 that should be fun and interesting to see on the field. Check out the fun below.
