LEGO City Garbage Truck Set Review for MF0

The Bag
So this is one of two Target's Easter poly bags for this season. I wouldn't bother with the Friends one as a side note.

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Another set I couldn't rattle anything from. -5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (10 cents per part)

$3.49/48 = 7 cents per part, below the gold ratio for +5

Parts 2
If you can't build something right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Certainly a few parts in here that have been used for builds but nothing major. I would like to see someone use the trash cans in a build or the blocks with clips. The wheel base might work for a start to a HVA in IO. +5 points

The Set
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

The hard question! If you can build something out of it this is usually a yes but you always lean towards no when you can't. I feel torn about this set because I see some fun pieces here...going to bend the rules a bit and go with 0 points.

Total: We have an A- set leaning toward B+. I like the set it self but it is destined to be torn apart into the sorting bins. Again like to see someone use those trash cans or the 1x2 blocks with center clips.

LEGO Ninjago Kai's Fire Mech Review for MF0

The Box
So I picked this up at Toys R Us but seems to come and go out of the stores so I am not sure if this is a discontinued yet or not.
Stickers
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I build an interesting quad frame. +5 points

The Frame
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (10 pence none the richer, no wait. 10 cents per part!)

$9.99/102 = $0.10 per part due to rounding giving us zero points.

Parts 1 - I need swords, lots of swords...
If you can't build something right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Yes indeed, +5 points.

Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

I would say most certainly. +5
Parts 3
Total: 15 points for an A set, not bad but there are some other options I like to talk about below.

Parts Focus
So recently I started talking about taking MF0:RA to another scale, that scale being minifigure scale. For that scale, this is a slam dunk frame in a box BUT is sort of short. We are speaking in scale. Looking at the adjustments a Chub at minifigure scale would be as tall as the swords sticking out the top of the Fire Mech.
The Set
Just because it short one doesn't mean it won't work, I think it takes up all the dimensions as needed and comes with a range and melee system! Also it could also be a good base to make your own minifigure scale Chub.

As you can see here, compared to a microfig, she is a bit higher up in height to the leg.

LEGO Friends Smoothie Stand Review for MF0

The Bag
So this was Target's girl aimed poly bag (FYI, I hate the gendering of toys) for V Day this year. At the moment my store still has a few along with the helicopter as well. Keep an eye on the clearance section.
Parts 1 - the swirly tops are interesting
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I got nothing out of this set. -5
Parts 3 - 3 taps
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (I am not telling you...ok 10 cents per part)

$3.99/37 = $0.11 per part. Not that bad for a Friends set but still over the golden ratio -10 points.
Parts 3
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

This though is very true because of the taps. Like to see someone use those twisty tops that are used for ice cream or the money. +5
The Set
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Given I didn't build anything and I can't see some of these being used in any kind of build I am going to go with -5 until proven wrong.

Frames Get Paid?
Total: -15 gets a C set, not good maybe avoid unless you need some taps right now under $5 or if some of the other parts get your builder brain going.
