LEGO Chima Gorzan's Walker Review for MF0

The Bag
Picked this one up from Toys R Us, you can even order it online (here) which is a first for a polybag (not counting freebies from the LEGO online store) that I know of. Let's Open this up.

Brute Classic
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

The set is almost a frame in a bag so it was pretty easy to make this squat stumpy frame. I call it Brute and in my mind this is what the early frames most likely looked like. +5

Comparison
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part

$3.99 / 34 = $0.12 per part going above ratio for a -10

Parts 1
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

This is a yes of course, we did built a frame! +5

Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Close but over all I am going to say yes. +5

The Set
Total: Gives a total of a B+ set but maybe more like half a +?

LEGO Ninjago Kai's Fire Mech Review for MF0

The Box
So I picked this up at Toys R Us but seems to come and go out of the stores so I am not sure if this is a discontinued yet or not.
Stickers
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I build an interesting quad frame. +5 points

The Frame
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (10 pence none the richer, no wait. 10 cents per part!)

$9.99/102 = $0.10 per part due to rounding giving us zero points.

Parts 1 - I need swords, lots of swords...
If you can't build something right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Yes indeed, +5 points.

Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

I would say most certainly. +5
Parts 3
Total: 15 points for an A set, not bad but there are some other options I like to talk about below.

Parts Focus
So recently I started talking about taking MF0:RA to another scale, that scale being minifigure scale. For that scale, this is a slam dunk frame in a box BUT is sort of short. We are speaking in scale. Looking at the adjustments a Chub at minifigure scale would be as tall as the swords sticking out the top of the Fire Mech.
The Set
Just because it short one doesn't mean it won't work, I think it takes up all the dimensions as needed and comes with a range and melee system! Also it could also be a good base to make your own minifigure scale Chub.

As you can see here, compared to a microfig, she is a bit higher up in height to the leg.

LEGO The Hobbit Mirkwood Elf Guard Review for MF0

The Bag
As you can see I got this at Five Below but it was quite some time ago. The tree caught my interest and is the reason why I bought it (a few bags actually. I like trees for terrain.)

Parts 1 - Minifigure
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Frame or spaceship, not going to happen here with this set. Though it does make a tree from the set so we break even with 0.

Parts 2
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (10 cents on the dollar, no wait on the part)

Isn't painfully obvious that it is above but let's get technical. $3.99/27 = 15 cents per part! I think that is the worse ratio for a LEGO set I have done. -10 indeed!

Parts 3
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

The giant mushroom makes a return!!! There are a few usual parts but not many. +5 (am I being nice?)

The set
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

This is a certain nope! -5

COVER!
Total: Well our total gets a C+ rating which makes me feel sort of bad that I bought more then one but I still like the tree. I remove the torch and maybe the mushroom (or just don't count it). Either way as you can see they are tall enough to be cover but most likely won't be after taking just one hit but hey you need to have some hard and soft cover I feel!
