LEGO Star Wars First Order Star Destroyer 30277 Set Review for MF0

The Set
Picked this polybag up at TRU, another Ship in a bag to get started in Intercept Orbit?

The Set....and The Build
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Another Micro-ship build that can translate well into Intercept Orbit but probably as a Frigate, be nice if we can find a capital ship. +5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$3.99 / 56 parts = $0.07 for under ratio for +5 points!

Parts 2

If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

I think this is certainly a yes for +5 points!

Parts 3
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

This is where I split hairs and going to go with 0 points!

Total: Might have to pick up this A set to build some more.

LEGO Star wars U-Wing Fighter 30496 Set Review for MF0

The Bag
I found this at Barnes & Noble in the toys section; it was hanging out with Star Wars display and NOT the actual LEGO Section.

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Honestly I think this thing is perfect for IO so I am giving the set +5 for the build itself!

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$3.94 / 55 for an amazing $0.07 per piece well under the ratio for +5 points.

Parts 2
If you can't build a creation right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Certainly a few parts in here good for frame building and given we got a ship I guess for a ship. IO changes the plate game a little. +5 points.

Parts 3
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

This is where it gets really hard; a bag of mostly plates like this I say no but they built a ship and it the smaller sizes which can be useful for frames depending on what your building so we will go with +5 points.

The Set
Total: An A+ set that is a start into your IO fleets is what I say. I am thinking Fast Carrier Frigates.

For Fun

LEGO Star Wars Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle 30279 for IOrbit

The Bag

This was the GameStop pre-order bonus for LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens. Frankly this is one of the best pre-order bonus!

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I couldn't build anything new but the set itself should be fun for Intercept Orbit as a nice HVA. +0 points

Comparison/The Set
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

I got this for free but as it is a polybag it most likely be $3.99

$3.99 / 43 pieces = $0.09 per piece for just under the ration for +5 points!

Parts 1
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Yes for +5 points.
Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Normally I say no but we did get a ship but it was the set so will just go with 0 points!

Total: With our funky points we get an A- but you need HVAs to play!

LEGO Star Wars Poe's X-Wing Review for MF0

The Bag
I picked this up today when I went to Target to pick up a last few things to before going on my vacation. Lucky you.

Frame Front
Frame Back
Frame Comparison
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I got this interesting frame above that I have mix feelings about. +5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$3.99 / 64 = $0.06, hot damn! Out side of clearance or thrift store finds I don't I have ever scene it that low for a LEGO set! +5 points.

Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Certainly got some frame parts in this set. +5 points.

The Set
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Another set that gives me mixed feeling for a...zero, we are going to call this breaking even for 0 points.

Like my Ride, bro?
Total: A set, Impressive. Sort of like the build, not for MF0 or anything. I think it needs to go on my geek wall. Keep your eyes out for this one.

LEGO Star Wars Homing Spider Droid Review for MF0

The Box
Here we come to a close on this theme week. Do we end in a high note? Let's find out.

Frame Front
Frame Back
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I made this little 'sphere' stompy frame which I really like! Is this a twank? +5 points

Frame Comparison
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$9.99 / 102 pieces = $0.10 cents per part meeting the ratio for ZERO points.

Parts 1
Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

I put them to use, didn't? +5 points!

Parts 3 - so many parts
Parts 3
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

I am going to give this set a yes for 5 points!

The Set
Set - Comparison
Total: So we end with another A set. Not to bad for the microfighter series! Once could argue the set build itself could be a frame but I think it pushing out of our suggested 10x10x12 box.

LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship Review for MF0

The Box
Sorry about a day late for the Theme week, was dealing with some stuff. Let's get into this surprise of a set.
Frame Build
Frame Back
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Clearly a yes, I think I got a nice little frame here over all. Rather proud of this one even if the feet are not my favorite. I think I have used foot design before. +5 points!

Frame Comparison
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$9.99 / 105 = $0.10 for a break even for +0 points.

Parts 1
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Several useful parts surprisingly enough! +5 points.

Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Handful?! Check the yes box! +5 points

Parts 3
Total: A set! I was not expecting this from this set at all, and again I am really happy with that frame. Look at that thing! Do it! Thank you.

LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Review for MF0

The Box
Isn't that like the cutest frame ever?

Frame in a Box?
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I think it is a frame in the box! The body pushes the limits but I think you will be good...maybe don't measure from the head? +5

Comparison
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$9.99 / 88 = $0.11 per piece, above the ratio but only by a penny! -10 points. FYI: this is ALWAYS the easiest question/answer section.

Parts 1 - Some of the Placement seems random
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

I think this is an easy yes. +5 points.

Parts 2 - He wears the Helmet to hide his feelings.
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

This is pretty much a yes. +5

Parts 3
Total: B+ Not bad so far but I was hoping for better. If I catch this set on clearance I might pick up more for a frame squad of cuteness!!! I know I just went with the build bit I like to see what other frames others could build!
