LEGO Batman Movie Battle Pod 5004929 Set Review for MF0

The Bag
First let me just admit I freaked out seeing this as it reminds me of Pods/X-Pods LEGO line. Sadly I wasn't into LEGO at the time this line come about but when I stumbled upon it I fell in love and did a bit of Ebaying. Now this isn't quite the same but I feel like the spirit is there. I have seen a preview and seems we are getting a series of these for the year but looks like their focused on minifigs but how cool would it be to get one where we could fold up frames, put them in the pod and carry them in our pockets?!

Well moving on to the actual set! These are a Free with Purchase of $30 of LEGO Batman Movie sets or you can just buy it (at TRU.)

Pod Closed
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

No creation to be found here but maybe you can field 'fancy' dress Batman? -5 points.

Pod Open
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$5.99 / 24 = $0.25 per part! Jeez I think that is the worse ratio I have ever seen but these Pods are new but...wow! This week there is also a sale going on for the LEGO Batman Movie sets which includes these pods. -5 points.

Poorly Dressed Batman...
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

There are certainly some frame parts, though more on the cosmetic side? +5 points

Parts
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Hmm, sort of a tough on this one and I think I will actually go with Zero points as just about all can be useful but more cosmetic over function parts.

The Set
Total: B- set, maybe but I think it still neat and fun but probably not for MF0 directly.

The Bag
Found this one at Walmart in a yellow display for LEGO The Batman Movie (FYI: It was as great movie!) merchandise.

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

No custom builds out of this set for -5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?

$3.99 / 49 = $0.08 cents, not bad for +5 points.

Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

There are a few usable parts in the bag. +5 points.

Parts 3
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

This one is a no giving it -5 more points.

The Set
Total: We have a B rated set; unless there is a specific part in this bag you want I would just avoid getting this polybag.

LEGO The Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile Set 30521 Review for MF0

The Bag
I found this at TRU a while back but slipped through my reviewing cracks. Let's play catch up.

Gun Frigate
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I built this small but dangerous looking Intercept Orbit frigate for +5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$3.99 / 68 = $0.06 per part for a big under ratio for +5 points!

Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

This is an absolute yes for +5 points.

Parts 3
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

I got a decent but small ship, I certainly have frame parts but not enough to make a frame. Going to go with a yes but barely earning the +5 points.

The Set
Total: An A + plus that could be just an A. (I mean if you work in black like Batman than it probably an A+)

LEGO The Batman Movie Batman in the Phantom Zone 30522

The Set - "I am Batman."
As the posting of this post this set is at Target and you should find it in the season section (Currently Valentine's Day) but some stores might put it in the LEGO section by accident so keep your eyes peeled.

A frame - Cantaur
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I got this quad walker that I am rather proud of. +5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part

$3.99 / 59 = $0.07 per part for under ratio for +5 points!

Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

LEGO The Batman Movie The Mini Batwing 30524 Set Review for MF0

The Set
So starting the year strong with this set BUT unfortunately it is a LEGO Store exclusive when you buy over $35 of merch, each time. Hopefully it will make itself out into the wild.

The Frame
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I got myself a decent little frame plus the set itself could be a nice wide frigate or a small sized cruiser; just depends where you bend the wings too really. +5 points.

Parts 1
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part

(The value is stated as $3.99 so this will serve as our price until the set goes live outside of a purchase bonus).
$3.99 / 80 pieces = $0.05 per piece! Amazing. +5 points.

Parts 2
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Very much, several good parts. +5 points

Parts 3 - These Shield plates are appearing everywhere now
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Despite a good chunk of plates over all I still think it is a worth while amount of MF0 useful parts for +5 points.

Ready to Blast into Space!
Total: We have an A+ set for my first review of the year! Hopefully we will see this out in general stores in the near future; hope you like working in Black...

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes The Batmobile 30446 Review for MF0

The Bag
Picked this one up from TRU. I don't care much for the design of this batmobile (as LEGO or from BvS) and much prefer the Tumbler version.

Frame Creation
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I built this guy, not the most impressive but a bit more stable then you might expect. +5 points.

Comparison - Look at those saddle hips.
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part.

$3.99 / 63 = $0.06, wow that is a steal! +5 points.

Parts 1
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Yes, absolutely despite a lot of plates. +5 points.

Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Despite a chuck of not useful there is certainly still a lot for +5 points!

The Set
Total: A+ set! A lot of good parts for a good price and the batmobile is in scale really if you want to try and include that for some odd reason.

LEGO The Batman Tumbler Review for Mobile Frame Zero

Original Review System by Mantis King.

The Polybag
Found this guy at Target hanging out in the Cashier Line. I wonder how Target get's some of these types of Polybags as they aren't even on the LEGO website or Target's own site. Well I grabbed it as it looks perfect for an armored car at 7P scale. Let's get started.

Can you build a frame or frames right away?
I tried but could not so -5 points to Slytherin no wait I mean The Batman Tumbler. Though you could use the Tumbler as a frame you still would need to at parts for other systems outside of movement.

Can you build a ship or ships right away?
This I did tried and succeeded but so far this polybags have lead to rather small ships. +5

Kind of looks like an oversized fighter...

Can you build terrain, station, 'scenery' or anything else?
The set could easily used as is for an abandoned armored vehicle station or as something to litter the battlefield but for terrain terrain that would be a no go. Over all we are going to go with the positive for +5.

Is it above, below or at the Golden Ratio? ($0.10 per part)
$3.99/57 = $0.07 per part so +5

If you can't build a frame right away, does it have parts that you can immediately use?
This is a yes, have some cheese slopes and parts key to some of the frames in the rule book. +5

If you can't build a spaceship right away, does it have parts that you can immediately use?
Yes given I built a spaceship. +5

If you can't build something else right, does it have parts that you can immediately use?
Generally speaking this is a yes for +5

Does it have more then a handful of immediately useful parts?
Frames: No -5
Ships: Yes +5
Everything Else: Barely Yes? +5

Scores:
Frames: 10 for A-
Ships: 20 for A+
Everything Else: Potentially 20 for A+ depending on what your looking for.

I am planning to field this as is, as either special armored car escorts missions or to maybe just decorate by battlefields. I picked up two initially but I might grab a third.
