LEGO Chima Gorzan's Walker Review for MF0

The Bag
Picked this one up from Toys R Us, you can even order it online (here) which is a first for a polybag (not counting freebies from the LEGO online store) that I know of. Let's Open this up.

Brute Classic
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

The set is almost a frame in a bag so it was pretty easy to make this squat stumpy frame. I call it Brute and in my mind this is what the early frames most likely looked like. +5

Comparison
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? The Golden Ratio is $0.10 per part

$3.99 / 34 = $0.12 per part going above ratio for a -10

Parts 1
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

This is a yes of course, we did built a frame! +5

Parts 2
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Close but over all I am going to say yes. +5

The Set
Total: Gives a total of a B+ set but maybe more like half a +?

LEGO Chima IceKlaw's Bear Mech

The Bag
So I picked up this bad buy up at TRU but I have been hearing of reports of it appearing at other locations so keep your eye open for this one!

Parts 1
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

I made a little frame that looks like it hops or hovers around but I think it more 4p scale. +5

Parts 2
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio?

$3.99/39 = $0.10 per part, a very rare break even! ZERO points but nothing loss either!

Jumper Side by Side
If you can't build a creation right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

This is a big yes, this is the first set I can thing of that has had the claws used in Chub Arms. Also some good gun pieces for Intercept Zero. I really like these clear blue pieces in this set. +5 points.

Jumper d6Rd d6Rd d6B Image Image
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Most certainly, just about the entire bag are useful parts of some level. +5 points.

The Set Side by Side
Total: So we have an 8 set which is almost a frame in a bag really. With just a few more bricks to fill up the core you could have a nice melee frame ready to go to tear up your enemies!

LEGO Chima Worriz's Fire Bike Review for MF0

The Bag
This is the current Target polybag and WOW haven't done one of these in a few months. Let's make up some lost time!
Parts 1
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Nope, nothing. Might be able to get a station out of it but I doubt it. -5

Parts 2
Is it below, at, or above the Golden Ratio? (We should all know this by now, right? {10 cents per part})

$3.99/31 equals $0.13! Wow, that is a big difference. Not looking good. -10

Parts 3
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Thankfully there are a few of those so this set isn't completely shot yet! +5

Parts 4
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

A lot of barrels and a few other random neatness but I don't think we have enough to 'more then a handful' here. -5
Vroom vroom

Total: C, certainly not the best set but...

Outside of being for MF0 parts, I like the build itself which is why I bought it. It a simple build yet very much looks like what it suppose to...it just fun...I wonder if it be practical for a frame to have a motorcycle...

Double Review for MFZ: LEGO Chima Acro Fighter & Double-Crosser

Original Review System by Mantis King.

Feels like it has been forever since my last review! This post is a two for one Chima special! We will be checking out Razcal's Double-Crosser and Ewar's Acro Fighter. Let's start with Ewar's Acro Fighter!

Ewar's Acro Fighter

The Bag
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Maybe I was having an off day but I couldn't get anything built out of this bag except for the Acro Fighter itself. Minus 5 points.
The Instructions
Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (Golden Ratio is 10 cents per part).

Found this at Target (Mine still has some) for $3.99. $3.99/33 = 12 cents per parts so above for -10 points. Not looking good.

The parts
If you can't build a creation right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

Well outside of the plates and the mini figure I have seen the rest of these pieces be utilize in Frame builds before and the none rectangle plates might be good for Intercept Orbit so we have a yes on this one. 5 points!

Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts? (Yes = +5 / No = -5)

My gut says no on this set so -5.

Total: -15 giving it a grade of C but you could almost use it as is for say a HVA in Intercept Orbit which could bump this up to a C+ set but I think it still need a few more pieces/adjusting.

Razcal's Double-Crosser

The Bag
This dude...must be a bad guy. I am just saying, look at what he names his stuff!

Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Again I got nothing. -5 points!

Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (Do I really have to say it again?)

I got this from Five Below for $3.99 (if you didn't notice). So $3.99 divide by 35 gets us a price per piece of 11 cents. A center better then the Acro Fighter but still above for -10 points.

Parts
If you can't build a frame right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

A mix bag of parts that could work for Frames or Spaceships, +5 points.

Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Again I don't think it reaches 'handful' status with this one so I am saying no for another -5. Ouch

Total: Another -15 for a C grade Lego pack but again, I see some potential to modding the base set into a spaceship.

Another Potential Ship?

LEGO Chima Eagle Legend Beast Review for MFZ

Original Review System by Mantis King

So it seems that Mantis King as tweaked his Review System to be more universal vs my breaking it down into three different paths so lets try that for a bit and see where it takes us, eh? (I might be digging FX's Fargo right now...)

Our Box
Can you build some sort of creation right away?

Well, yes yes you can. I built a frame which for the most part that I like and I squeezed two different spaceships out of it. I was disappointed with the first one I made so I tried my hand at going with a second one. Both have a rather Ijad feel to them which was my goal. +5 points

It is a tiny frame but I like the use of the claw for leg tips. Those could easily count as melee systems I think.

Yes, this is the front.

This is the first ship a built and I really didn't like it, it didn't have the feel or the look I was quite aiming for. If you can't tell I was trying to use the Axe head as some kind of escort ship for the ship that could counted as some kind of system.

Please ignore the yellow legs.

This is the second ship I built out of this seat and I am much more pleased with it. I which I could have figured out how to make it longer but I am using the wings the way I really wanted to this time. The yellow legs are not suppose to be there, I couldn't find my any of my LEGO pieces that make up my stand for 'flight' pictures so I had to figure something out.

Is it below, at, or above the golden ratio? (10 cents per part)

Math time, we have $9.99 divided by 105 parts to give us 10 cents per part. This meets the ratio which is surprising as the other sets of Legend Beast are below but it was close. Honestly if you kind find it for two cents less (Wal-Mart) then you might be under ratio. +0 points

If you can't build a creation right away, or choose not to, does it have parts you should be able to put into use right away?

If you look below there certainly several useful parts, be it frames or spaceships. I think this set is a bit down the middle about such things. +5

Wings!
Does it have more than a handful of immediately useful parts?

Absolutely, the above statement sort of applies to this as well. +5

THE RATING: Our total (15 by the way) gives a A rating for this set with split focus on frames or spaceships I think though for a spaceship I think you might need to snag a few more parts depending on the size you will be aiming for.

Alright, now that we are done with that let's take a look at the bit more silly side and them some of my photo shooting.
